This unusual tour backstage at the Palais des Papes is proposed from 1 September 2009 to 1 June 2010 on Saturdays and Sundays.

Who has never dreamed before a closed door to discover secret passageways, corridors to take stolen, to pass where the public does not?

"Palace secret is not a traditional visit: it is a discovery of places hitherto inaccessible to the public. The guide lecturer will accompany a small group of about twenty people spicing his commentary details and anecdotes about the construction of the monument, its history but also on the daily lives of Popes since a piece of their privacy we will be here unveiled.

In 2002, the exhibition History Monument was the first part of this vast project.

The event, developed on a large part of the tour circuit, presented in three sections the history of the building:
- built in the fourteenth century,
- Its adaptations between the fifteenth and eighteenth centuries,
- Its reassignment and its restoration in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.

The set was designed to be reused later in the future museum, in an economy. The exhibition functioned as a precursor size of the museum's work and met a warm welcome from the public, which could only strengthen us in our choices.

The creation of the museum's work, which opened its doors in May 2003, does not transform the monument into a museum.
