In August, the Popes' Palace and the Saint-Bénezet Bridge open their doors on night to welcome the privileged visitors of the exhibitionTERRAMARE and the music lovers of classic music. Discover our musical program prepared by "concertante Music " quite specially for the Popes' Palace.

Attend concerts given outdoors, in the very privileged space that is the Châtelet courtyard of the Saint-Bénezet Bridge. Follow the guide and dive into the abundant and protean work of the Catalan artist Miquel Barceló and discover to the shaving light, in immense and spectacular card of the big Chapel of the Popes' Palace, the exhibition Terramare.

To celebrate its ten years of museum activity, the Collection Lambert in Avignon will organise, in three historic sites within the papal city, a summer exhibition devoted to the abounding and protean body of work of Miquel Barceló, Catalan artist living between Paris, his natal Majorca and Mali of the Dogon.

This ambitious exhibition will be made possible under the double, emblematic legacy of Pablo Picasso who, in 1970, made headlines by proposing one of his last great exhibitions of paintings in the Chapel of the Papal Palace four years before his death, and the legacy the Kings of Majorca who came to visit the popes installed in Avignon in the 14th century.

A special, behind the scenes visit of the Papal residence, where you can tour private apartments, baths, wardrobes chapels and gardens.

Hidden staircases and concealed corridors take you to the terrace. An off the beaten path tour which goes with a meal and a discovery tasting of the Côtes du Rhône wines in the Boutellerie and on the Grands Dignitaires terrace.

Saturday at 12:30 (brunch and Côtes du Rhône tasting + visit), Sunday at 10:30 (visit + brunch and Côtes du Rhône tasting).

A visit fun for the whole family, the future discovery of the familiar and fantastic wildlife of the Palais des Papes.

At nightfall, the Papal Palace opens its doors on a special animal world. In the silence and size of the monument, the theme of bestiary takes its full dimension. It is both fantastic and carved with a message, scary and colorful.
He is also familiar and painted, simply poetic, soft and Using binoculars and a focused, visitors sharing a real moment of intimacy with the Palace.

Petit Palais museum + Popes’ Palace Wine tasting served with cheese and bread in La Bouteillerie

Discover on a new angle some paintings chosen in the Petit Palais museum and the frescos seen in the Pope’s chamber inside the Pope’s palace.
