mireille mathieu sur le pont d'Avignon

Mireille Mathieu, at Mrs Marie-Josée Roig's invitation, Mayor of Avignon and President de Avignon-Tourisme, generously agreed to be the godmother of this space.
(Inauguration in June 1st, 2006)

A space dedicated to the song which makes of Avignon, after Paris, the most famous city of France worldwide...

Besides the classic treatment of places (signalling system of information with cultural character) where are evoked the history(story) and the legend of the construction of the bridge(deck), the implemented techniques, the river transit and the role of the building in the economic boom of the city, a space is more particularly dedicated to the song.

This room is in the châtelet which protects the access to the city at the end of the bridge.
It is handled in a spirit different from all the spaces (treatment in tones blue harms and glace chestnut, sieved lighting) so as to create a felted atmosphere, close to a recording studio.

A cyma equipped with niches backlight evokes the history of the song, with varied illustrations, scores, ancient postcards, idealized images.

A wall of images animates the room of children's silhouettes which dance, thrown in shadow plays.
Diverse versions of the song, in several languages and in various musical styles, are diffused in buckle in elements of furniture feigning departures of arcs of the building. To listen to them, it is necessary to stick its ear against drillings equipped with small loudspeakers, as child the fact with a shell.
The clientele of the Bridge of Avignon being essentially family, this space addresses quite particularly a public young person, of children and teenagers.

One of the versions of the song " On the bridge(deck) of Avignon ", by Jean Sablon.
