Avignon Tourisme offers you an exceptional piano concert in the Grand Tinel of the Palais des Papes by two very talented artists Laure Favre Kahn and Rebecca Chaillot.

Two great pianists will share the same keyboard to stop time during Franz Schubert's incredible Fantasy in F minor. This work written in 1828, the year of his death, dedicated to Countess Caroline Esterházy, one of his students whom he loved deeply and without hope, as attested by contemporary testimonies. All this imbues this work, “dense and disturbing”, with an “ecstatic” atmosphere which contributes “to accentuate the tragic character of a music where the silences speak as much as the notes”. It is also the last of Schubert's Fantasies, one of his favorite forms due to the freedom of structure that it offered him, a form that he helped to enrich and brought to its paroxysm of expressiveness.
